British audio manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins has launched a new high-end Bluetooth headphones, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 at an incredibly steep price that can put the Apple AirPods Max to shame. The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 features active noise reduction and is an all-round improvement over the brand’s Px7 range of wireless headphones. These headphones are also a fierce competitor to the best of consumer audio offerings from Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, and Apple. 

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 Specifications And Features 

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 features two dynamic 40mm carbon conical transducers along with support for multiple Bluetooth audio codecs including SBC, AptX, AptX HD, AptX Adaptive, and AAC. The drivers are tuned for quick membrane responses and low level of distortion. 

Along with Bluetooth 5.2 support for low-power, lag free connectivity, there’s also wired connectivity through a 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port to plug in to a DAC. Using the wired mode, you can get a lossless signal over USB and decode it directly to a 24-bit file. 

There are six microphones in the Bowers & Wilkins Px8, four of which are used to isolate and cut off noise and two for taking calls. There are also pickups in place to reduce the sound of wind gusts. 

The Px8 is controlled with physical buttons placed at the back of each ear. You can change the volume, pause music, change tracks, launch your preferred voice assistant, and switch noise cancellation modes. 

A brand big on ergonomics, the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 weighs 320 grams and has a circum-aural design with pads that cover the ears for passive isolation. The headphones come with a promise of up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge, while 15 minutes of charge is said to deliver seven hours of battery life.

The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 is priced at a whopping EUR 699 (roughly ₹55,900). It is available in two colours – black and silver.
