Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 Headphones With 40mm Drivers, DSP, ANC Launched: Specifications

Bowers & Wilkins, a British audio equipment brand, has announced its Px7 S2 noise-cancelling wireless headphones. They are marketed as an overhauled version of the brand’s popular Px7 headphones, which were launched back in 2019. The Px7 S2 offers a new design, improved sound quality, better earpads, DSP (Digital Signal Processing), and improved ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), among other features.

The Px7 S2 is not just a refreshed version but comes with a completely new design and build. The earpads are now slimmer and come with improved cushions, allowing for comfortable usage for longer durations. The headphones feature 40mm drivers coupled with a new acoustic platform. The drivers are smartly positioned to maintain a consistent distance from your ears to provide a natural soundstage. 

Bowers & Wilkins have packed it with their self-developed DSP, which can handle 24-bit streaming from most music streaming services. They support AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, and aptX HD audio codecs.  

The Px7 S2 wireless headphones get four microphones. Two microphones analyse the sound output, while the other two check for ambient noises. Moreover, the brand has changed the microphone positions from its predecessor, tuned the DSP to perform better in noisy surroundings, and reworked the noise-cancelling algorithm to deliver an enhanced ANC performance. It also gets a transparency mode that can be activated via the brand’s Music App. Also, you can access the ANC settings and adjust the EQ from this app.   

The headphones get a customisable physical button on the left earcup that gives you access to noise cancellation settings or voice assistance. The other physical buttons to perform various functions such as power on/off, volume, track controls, and calls are embedded in the right earcup. The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 is reported to offer up to 30 hours of playtime on a single charge. It gets an improved fast-charging tech that provides up to seven hours of playback with just 15 minutes of charging.    

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2: Price, Availability

The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 headphones are priced at $399 (approx. ₹31,500) in the US. They come in grey, blue, and black colourways. There’s no word on its launch in India yet.
