BYD Atto 3 Electric SUV With 521KM Range, 5-Star Safety Rating Launched In India: Price, Features

Chinese car manufacturer BYD has launched the Atto 3 electric SUV in India. The company has already opened bookings for the first 500 cars for a token amount of ₹50,000. Meanwhile, we can expect the price of the electric SUV to be announced next month. The Atto 3 arrives as the second BYD model for India, the first being the e6 MPV.

BYD Atto 3 Design

The BYD Atto 3 is based on the Dragon Face 3.0 design language. It sports a silver grille at the front with BYD branding. The car flaunts 18-inch five-spoke, dual-tone alloy wheels. At the back, it features LED tail-lamps and a dual-tone bumper.

When it comes to dimensions, the Atto 3 has a length of 4,445mm, width of 1,875mm, and height of 1,615mm. Furthermore, it has a 2,720mm wheelbase and a boot capacity of 440 litres.

BYD Atto 3 Features

The BYD Atto 3 features door-mounted circular speakers, air-con vents, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate. It is also equipped with a wireless phone charger and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The BYD Atto 3 is comes in a single Blade battery pack option with a capacity of 60.48kWh in India. The electric SUV has an ARAI driving range of 521km. The electric motor produces 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The car can reportedly go from zero to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds.

The company claims that the vehicle supports fast charging via its 80kW DC fast charger. It enables the battery to charge from zero to 80 per cent in 50 minutes. It also has a Type 2 AC charger which can reportedly power up the battery pack in approximately 10 hours. The Atto 3 will come with a 7kW AC home charger and a 3kW AC portable charging box.

As for safety, the BYD Atto 3 has received a five-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The car comes with a 360-degree camera, traction control, hill descent control, seven airbags, ABS, and ESC. It supports automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and blindspot monitoring.

BYD Atto 3 Availablility

BYD is offering a free subscription of 4G data for three years, six free maintenance services, and a six-year roadside assistance package as part of its promo offers. The Atto 3 will be available in four colourways—Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue. The company will announce the price of the electric SUV next month. The price is expected to be around ₹25 lakh.
