The 2022 Tata Nexon EV MAX launch will be happening at 11.30 AM tomorrow, May 11 2022. As its name suggests, the new Nexon EV will pack a bigger battery pack to offer an extended driving range. There were rumours of Tata working on a long-range model of the Nexon EV for months and a couple of mules were spotted testing on the roads. With this product, Tata Motors is attempting to eliminate the range anxiety among the buyers. Apart from the larger battery pack, the exteriors and interiors will also get some updates.

According to rumours, the ARAI certified range is expected to be around 435km on a single charge. Going by a new teaser on Twitter, the Nexon EV MAX is touted to travel from Mumbai to Pune and back on a single charge. The distance between the two cities is around 300 km, and you could expect a similar real-life driving range.
The battery is expected to be married to a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that puts out 143 PS and 250Nm of torque compared to the 127 PS and 245Nm of the older model. The increase in power figures will catapult the electric SUV from 0-100kmph in about 9 seconds. That’s a whole one second faster than the standard range version. The car will come with a 7.2kW charger instead of the 3.3kW charger, which should charge the car fully in six to seven hours.
Aesthetically, there won’t be many changes to the exteriors of the car. The alloy wheels are expected to get a new design and there could be an addition of a “MAX” logo at the rear. Talking about the interiors, the central console is completely redesigned as it now holds the digital rotary knob with chrome knurling. The modes will be displayed digitally on the top of this knob, which is a first in this segment.
The physical handbrake is replaced by an electronic parking brake with an “Auto-Hold” option. The “Tambour” door in front of the driver’s armrest is replaced by a wireless smartphone charger. It will also come with front cooled seats for added comfort.
Other noteworthy features of the Nexon EV MAX include an Auto-Dimming IRVM, Sports/Eco modes, manually selectable regenerative braking system, regen-based auto brake lamps, traction control, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, brake disc wiping, cruise control, and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring), among other features. Unfortunately, the car is likely to come with two airbags and not six airbags that it was rumoured to sport.
Tata Nexon EV MAX: Expected Price
The 2022 Tata Nexon EV MAX is expected to be priced ₹2-2.50 lakh rupees higher than the current Nexon EV XZ+ Lux variant, which costs ex-showroom ₹16.95 lakh rupees.
