CES 2022: MSI Showcases its Raider, Stealth, Crosshair Gaming Laptops

MSI is one of the topmost manufacturers when it comes to gaming PC components and laptops. The company was on a roll at CES 2022 by launching its range of 2022 gaming and creator-oriented laptops. Apart from the Katana, Pulse, Vector, and Sword line up, the Taiwanese company also introduced the Stealth, Raider, and Crosshair gaming laptops which fall in the $2000 to $3500 price category and are powered by Intel’s latest 12th Generation Alder Lake CPUs. These high-end gaming laptops are loaded with Smart Auto Power, silent fan mode, performance boost features, and many more features. 

MSI Raider GE76/66 Series Laptops Features, Specifications

The MSI Raider GE76 laptops come with 17-inch displays, whereas the Raider GE66 sports 15-inch displays. You get options of 120Hz, 240Hz, and 360Hz screen refresh rates. The Raider range of laptops is loaded with the latest Alder Lake H processors, i7-12700H and i9-12900HK, which can be overclocked for more performance. These can be configured with up to RTX 3080 Ti notebook GPU, which comes with 16GB DDR6 memory. Some variants come equipped with DDR4 RAM whereas some get the DDR5 RAM. 

MSI says that its new Phase Change thermal pad remains solid at room temperature but melts when it attains 58°C to fill the spaces between the CPU and thermal block. This allows for a more efficient transfer of heat, promising up to 10 percent more performance over traditional thermal pastes.

Prices start at $1599 (approx. ₹1,18,700) for the 17-inch GE76 models and go up to $3599 (approx. ₹2,67,300). The 15-inch GE66 starts at $2249 (approx. ₹1,67,000) and goes up to $3499 (approx. ₹2,60,000).

The MSI Stealth stays true to its name with an all matte black colour devoid of any fancy elements. It might also interest some working professionals who still have a zest for gaming. The MSI Stealth now gets a centre hinge to sustain more pressure from the opening and closing of the lid. Talking about the lid itself, it is CNC milled aluminium, which lends it a premium look and feel. The chassis has been made more rigid for enhanced durability while still staying light in weight. 

This gaming laptop gets 17.3-inch and 15.6-inch displays with 120Hz, 240Hz, and 360Hz screen refresh rate options. As far as performance is concerned, it gets 12th Generation Core i7-12650H, Core i7-12700H, and Core i9-12900H processors. You can choose up to an RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU. It supports DDR5-4800 RAM up to 32 GB (Dual-channel). 

Prices for the 17-inch Stealth GS77 start at $1799 (approx. ₹1,33,600) and go up to $3699 (approx. ₹2,74,700) for the RTX 3080 Ti variant. The 15.6-inch Stealth GS66 is priced at a starting price of $2499 (approx. ₹1,85,600) and goes all the way up to $3499 (approx. ₹2,60,000). 

MSI Crosshair 15 Special Edition Rainbox Six Extraction

Ubisoft and MSI have joined hands to bring the Crosshair 15, a mid-tier gaming laptop, with a Rainbow Six Extraction theme. It comes with a greyish black chassis, fancy yellow highlights, and laser engraving on the body. MSI is even including a copy of the game, which may excite gamers. 

The Crosshair 15 special edition will sport a 15.6-inch QHD display with a 165Hz screen refresh rate. It will be powered with up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and can be configured with up to an Nvidia RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. It can gobble up to 64GB of RAM and up to a 1TB SSD hard drive.

The special edition Crosshair 15 laptop will set you back by $1999 (approx. ₹1,48,500). All the MSI’s new Alder Lake laptops announced will be available for pre-order starting from January 25 and sales will commence starting from February 1, 2022, in the U.S.
