Consumer Electronics Show (CES) isn’t limited to TVs, laptops, and smartphones. It serves as a launchpad for several innovative appliances too. Kicking off proceedings this year, Roborock has dropped its automatic floor cleaner dubbed as S7 MaxV Ultra. As per the Chinese brand, this new product can recognise the type of the room and customise the cleaning program accordingly. It involves fine-tuning the intensity of vacuum, scrub, and wet mop as per the room’s requirement.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is equipped with an RGB camera, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor, and a structured light scanning system. LiDAR is known for its precise mapping capabilities, whereas structured light scanning systems are popular for scanning objects in real-time. Using the combination of these sensors, this cleaning bot can create a 3D map of your house and maneuver without running into any obstacles. Roborock claims that the machine can detect and avoid objects such as wires, shoes, and even pet waste.

The bot cleaner holds a 5,200mAh battery, which according to the company can power the device for 180 minutes on a single charge.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is a connected device. When you are away from home, you can use this robot cleaner to keep an eye on your pets. You can even talk to them using the new ‘Chat’ feature. The bot comes with an optional smart dock that’s more than a simple charging station. It can clean up the S7 MaxV and even refill its tank when it is docked.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is priced at $860 in the US. Those who want to pair it with the dock will need to shell out $1,400. The product is expected to the stores in the second half of 2022.
