Waiting for a cheaper Apple TV to launch? You might not have to wait much longer. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared that Apple would launch a new Apple TV 4K model that “improves cost structure in 2022”, thus, hinting that a cheaper model of the Apple TV could be launched this year. The new model will likely succeed the Apple TV HD, which was released back in 2015.

According to Kuo, the brand’s aggressive strategy of integrating hardware, content, and service amid the recession will help close the gap with its competitors.

However, Kuo wasn’t sure whether the upcoming device will launch as a streaming device or HDMI stick. Besides, he did not share any specifics on pricing of the device. All we know is that it will be cheaper than the previous Apple TV model. Apple’s video streaming device was last upgraded in April 2021 to include a better processor, as well as a new and improved remote control.
The iPhone maker currently sells three Apple TV models on its website and at its retail stores. First up is the Apple TV 4K, which comes in two storage variants—32GB and 64GB. Additionally, the firm sells the Apple TV HD with 32GB of storage.
