A couple of months after the initial announcement of its ColorOS 12, Oppo is finally geared up to roll out the ColorOS 12 Beta and stable builds based on Android 12 in India. It has shared a detailed roadmap with dates for its Find X2, Reno 5 series, Reno 6 series, F19 Pro+, and A74 5G devices.
Oppo had first introduced the skin for the ColorOS 12 based on the latest Android system in September 2021, soon after the announcement of the Android 12 OS by Google. Back then it was only available as a Developer Preview version in China. Oppo’s Find X3 Pro Photographer Edition was its first device to get the ColorOS 12 Beta based on Android 12. Following this, it was rolled out to Find X3 Pro in some regions in October 2021. Also, the company had previously released a timeline of its other Find X3, Reno series, and other devices which would be getting the update, albeit without the exact dates. Now that we have the exact timeframe of the update schedule, let’s have a look at it.
ColorOS 12 Beta Based On Android 12 Timeline
- Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G (From December 10 onwards)
- Oppo F19 Pro+ (From December 10 onwards)
- Oppo A74 5G (From December 28 onwards)

Users with the aforementioned Oppo devices can update their devices to the latest operating system. However, the roll-out will begin in a phased manner and might take a while before it reaches the intended destination. So, if you don’t get an update notification, simply head on to your Settings > Software Update section to manually check for the desired update.
Users with Oppo devices that aren’t listed here will have to wait till next year, as the company is yet to share the exact dates for those. Meanwhile, you can learn about the ColorOS 12 features before you head onto updating your smartphone.
