Disney Plus has lagged behind the competition in terms of upgrading its content catalog and implementing more modern streaming standards. The streaming service has been promoting 4K HDR video on more devices, like smartphones, tablets, and smart TV, and it is now upgrading its app to allow 4K HDR streaming on Sony’s newest PlayStation 5.
Disney Plus has just recently caught up to competing streaming platforms like Netflix and HBO Max, which already support 4K HDR streaming on PS5 consoles. To enjoy the content in the highest possible quality, you’ll need a paid membership to Disney Plus and an internet connection with speeds of at least 40Mbps in order to watch Disney Plus in 4K HDR resolution on your PS5.
