[Exclusive] iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro To Launch Alongside Gamepad Accessory: Price, Features

iQOO is all set to announce its flagship smartphone series—iQOO 9—in India on February 23, 2022. The Vivo-affiliated brand has been aggressively marketing the iQOO 9 series with some segment-first features, aimed primarily at gamers. The iQOO 9 series in India will consist of three smartphone models: iQOO 9 SE, iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro.

Now, we are hearing from tipster Yogesh Brar that the brand is also set to announce an official gamepad accessory alongside the new smartphones.

The iQOO gamepad accessory will join a fast wireless charger that has been borrowed from Vivo. Vivo already sells its 50W wireless fast charger in India, which currently retails for ₹4,499. iQOO also plans to announce some additional accessories, including headphones, truly wireless earbuds, and fast chargers, over the next few months.

iQOO Gamepad Specifications

The iQOO Gamepad accessory comes with a D-pad, a joystick, two action buttons, and a shoulder button on top, similar to a joy controller. It is compatible with both iQOO and Vivo smartphones. The gamepad sticks to one end of the smartphone and connects via Bluetooth. It packs a 360mAh battery, which gives you a gameplay time of around 25 hours and can be fully charged under 2 hours via a Type-C port at the bottom.

iQOO Gamepad Price In India

There is still no word on the colour and pricing for iQOO’s gamepad accessory, but we think it will be priced close to the ₹1,999 mark. This gamepad accessory is already available in the Chinese market in two shades and retails for CNY 139. We could see iQOO bundle its gamepad and fast wireless charger with the top-end iQOO 9 Pro.

As for the iQOO 9 series, we think the smartphones will start at a sticker price of ₹39,999 for the base variant of the iQOO 9 SE and go all the way up to ₹69,999 for the top-end iQOO 9 Pro. These are speculative prices, though, and the actual pricing will be revealed on February 23, 2022, once the smartphones are launched in India.
