Earlier this month, Garmin launched its new fitness tracker, the Vivosmart 5, in India. Now, the company is following it up with a new smartwatch. Garmin India teased its latest offering on Twitter, showing off a new “Solar Intensity” feature.
Garmin appears to be preparing to introduce a premium smartwatch with the tagline “More Advanced More Premium, the Leader is back.” The Solar Intensity feature keeps a track of the amount of sunlight falling on the smartwatch. This means that the upcoming smartwatch will get solar charging tech, eliminating the need for charging. Notably, solar charging is also featured in Garmin’s premium Instinct 2 Solar and Fenix 7 smartwatches.

Additionally, the teaser shows a running track, which indicates that the watch could include enhanced running features. Moreover, it could get the features typically offered by Garmin such as advanced sleep monitoring, sleep score, stress monitoring, and heart rate tracking.
While Garmin has neither revealed the name of the smartwatch nor a release timeline, we can expect more details to appear in the coming weeks. When it comes to pricing, we can expect the upcoming Garmin smartwatch to be on the expensive side, as the solar versions are premium offerings.
