By the end of Q2 2022, it will cement itself as the only option. The new navigation menu will let you switch between your inbox, conversations, and also join meetings without having to open a new window or jump between tabs. Essentially, Google’s messaging tools will get their own screens in Gmail and can be viewed as large buttons on the left-hand side of the interface.
Moreover, you will be able to easily navigate between Chat and Spaces with both tools available within a single screen. You can also see the entire array of Mail and Label options on the same screen. As the updated view rolls out, you will be able to view both email and chat results when you search your conversations. Previously, you would have to search within either email or chat. Additionally, Google will introduce notification bubbles which will let you know which chat tools need your attention.
The new interface appears to provide a unifying experience while using Gmail, with easy access to all the messaging tool right on the screen.
Gmail Integrated View Availability
This integrated view will soon be available to Google Workspace Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, Frontline, and Nonprofits, as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers. However, the refreshed view will not be available for Google Workspace Essentials customers.
