Google has released the third public beta of Android 13. It has reached Platform Stability, which is a crucial milestone for developers as all app-facing behaviours are now final. Android 13 Beta 3 is rolling out to select Pixel smartphones.
Android 13 Beta 3 Coming To Pixel Smartphones
Android 13 has now achieved Platform Stability with Beta 3, indicating that all app-facing behaviours and APIs are final. Developers can now commence their final compatibility testing before the final release. The next Android 13 beta will follow in July, and precedes the final release which will roll out to all supported Pixel smartphones in fall.
To recap, the first Android 13 developer preview was released in February this year. This was followed by the first public beta in April, and the second public beta in May. Android 13 focuses on privacy and also brings support for large screens with split-screen mode. It also introduces support for Bluetooth LE Audio, HDR video, and DNS Over HTTPS (DoH).
