The feature allows users to remove people and objects from shots in the Google Photos app. Moreover, it can detect distractions in your photos and suggest what you might want to remove. Then you can simply circle or brush over the unwanted person or object you want to remove, and you are done. The background just extends over the removed object to make it look like it never existed.

As mentioned earlier, the previous version of the Magic Eraser was just limited to removing distractions from your photos. The new version of this feature brings the ability to change the colours of the objects in photos to make them blend more seamlessly. Hence, now you can choose to simply wipe off that distraction from your photo or just change its colour to blend into the environment captured in the shot.
The company notes, “We’ve enhanced Magic Eraser so you can also change the color of distracting objects in your photo. In just a few taps, the object’s colors and shading blend in naturally. So the focus is on the subjects — where it should be”.
In a demo seen on stage, the bright neon colour of an ice chest was changed to one that blends in with the sandy environment. This ensured that people in the shot were highlighted, thus improving the image.
