They can use a single phone for both, and still protect their accounts on both profiles. This can be achieved without data spilling over to either profile. With the latest Android 13 update, Google promises that its work profile provides “an even smoother experience, offering a simpler design, improved productivity and new cross-device capabilities.”
The search giant has made it easier to switch between work and personal profiles, and at the same time keeping cross-profile admin policies intact. It will also ensure that content related to work will not interfere with your personal profile.
For instance, if you want to watch a how-to video for work, you can open it in a browser, which will ensure that work topics will not pop up on your personal apps. Furthermore, users can also designate separate photo galleries for work and personal use. This can be done by allowing access to select files only, and not the full media library.
Apart from making work profiles easier to navigate, Google has introduced some new productivity tools. Pixel devices get a smart dictation feature, which will separate corporate speak from regular chats. Additionally, all devices with Android 13 will now support features like tap-to-pay, since the latest Android 13 update comes with Near-field communication (NFC).
Android Management API Gets An Upgrade
With the new Android 13 update, the Android Management API will not only handle device policies, but it will also curate user experiences on work devices. This will enable Google’s Android Enterprise team to seed new features regularly.
More Security And Privacy Features
Android 13 provides IT admins with security logs for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Furthermore, Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) modules can now be remotely updated via Google System Updates.
