However, now the company is all set to make new additions to its existing lineup of GoPro cameras. Woodman, during the company’s earnings presentation, said that GoPro’s new plan is to work on specialized cameras to appeal to entirely different groups of users.

With this, the company does not necessarily mean to return to the “good/better/best” business model. As mentioned by the company CEO, all previous models of cameras appealed to the same types of buyers.
Woodman makes clear that the new additions to the series will be based on the current technology that GoPro is using. This decision makes sense as it would let the company sell new cameras for cheaper. The new cameras, referred to as “derivatives”, will be built for different purposes.
The company founder and CEO also talked about focusing on the professional market. he highlighted this idea by saying that GoPro didn’t just want to make a “Swiss Army knife” that’s okay for everyone. It rather wants to give “premium solutions” to cater to customers who might need more than what GoPro’s existing camera models offer.
