GoPro Hero 10 Black Action Camera Can Record Videos At 4K 120FPS, 5.3K 60FPS

GoPro has unveiled its latest flagship action camera, the GoPro Hero 10 Black. It succeeds the GoPro Hero 9 Black from last year and brings important improvements in terms of video recording resolution, frame rate, and image quality. It can record smoother videos, thanks to its faster processor—GP2—and the new HyperSmooth 4.0 video stabilisation algorithm. The front-facing screen has been improved, too. The best thing about the GoPro Hero 10 Black is that it has the same size, shape, and design as its predecessor, which means that all your older accessories should work fine with the newer camera. GoPro Hero 10 Black Specifications, Features

The GoPro Hero 10 Black comes with the more powerful GP2 processor and a 23.6MP camera sensor, making it possible to capture 23.6MP stills, 5.3K 60fps videos, 4K 120fps videos, and 2.7K 240fps videos. When recording 5.3K videos, you can simultaneously save 19.6MP stills. The action camera also promises to offer improved image quality in low-light conditions. Thanks to its faster GP2 processor, GoPro claims that the Hero 10 Black offers noise reduction and local tone mapping in videos.

The HyperSmooth 4.0 algorithm offers unreal image stabilisation. This is where GoPro has improved a lot over the past couple of years. Compared to the Hero 9 Black whose Horizon Levelling feature limit was up to 27 degrees, the Hero 10 Black extends it up to 45 degrees. It means that the camera will stick to the horizontal level even if you tilt the camera a bit towards left or right. However, this feature is limited to 4K 60fps mode.

Other features include SuperPhoto + HDR, Night Lapse video recording, the ability to capture RAW images, voice control, wind noise reduction with the 3-microphone setup, water resistance up to 33 feet, and fast charging. The Hero 10 Black is powered by the same 1,720mAh battery that’s found in the camera’s predecessor. The camera is compatible with Max Lens Mod, Media Mod, Display Mod, and Light Mod. These accessories were introduced last year.

There is a touchscreen colour display on the rear, similar to the Hero 9 Black. At the front, the colour display’s frame rate has been improved to 30Hz, which means that your motion won’t look stuttered, something that was found on the Hero 9 Black. You can live stream videos at 1080p and this mode supports HyperSmooth 4.0. The Hero 10 Black can also double up as a 1080p webcam, which means you can do ultrawide Zoom calls (but I doubt anyone would want to do that).

Coming to the connectivity of the Hero 10 Black, you can now connect the camera directly to your smartphone with a USB Type-C cable, which makes it possible to transfer images and videos faster over a wired connection. It has built-in GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm audio-in port for adding external microphone. It has a microSD card slot as well.

GoPro Hero 10 Black Price In India, Availability

The GoPro Hero 10 price in India is ₹54,500, and it will be available via Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, and select authorised retailers across the country starting early November 2021. With the launch of the Hero 10 Black, GoPro has dropped the prices of the GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 9, and the GoPro Max. The GoPro Hero 8 now retails for ₹31,000 in India, while the year-old GoPro Hero 9 is currently being sold for ₹43,000. The company’s only 360-degree camera on sale, the GoPro Hero Max, is priced at ₹53,000 in India.
