Hero Electric Optima CX Launched With Improved Range: Specifications, Price

Hero Electric has added another electric scooter, the Optima CX, to its lineup in India. The Optima CX is an updated version of the Optima HX e-scooter, which was launched back in 2021. The Optima CX brings a stiffer chassis, improved battery efficiency, improved top speed, and a better braking setup when compared to the older Optima HX.

Hero Electric Optima CX: Features, Specifications

The Hero Electric Optima CX doesn’t get any changes to its exteriors. It remains more or less similar to the Optima HX. It is smaller in size than regular scooters. The EV carries a conventional design, which may appeal to mature buyers. 

Hero Electric says that changes have been made under its skin. The Optima CX EV comes with a 25 percent sturdier chassis, which should aid in the handling and load-carrying capacity of the vehicle. 

The scooter gets the same 550kW BLDC motor with 1.2kW power as the Optima HX. But owing to some tweaks, the motor is now 10 percent more efficient than before. Hero Electric claims the Optima CX (Dual battery variant) can now offer a range of 140km, which is 28km more than the older model. The single battery variant offers a driving range of 82km. The battery is the same as before, which is a 51.2V 30Ah, but now is an LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) type instead of Lithium-ion. 

The electric scooter will be available in single battery and dual battery variants as before. The dual battery variant packs in two 51.2V 30Ah batteries. The charging time remains the same for both variants, as the dual-battery model employs a dual charging setup. 

The Optima CX inherits the suspension setup from the Optima HX and gets 12-inch wheels at both ends. However, the braking setup has been tweaked to offer 30 percent improved stopping power.   

Some noteworthy features include LED headlamps, cruise control, regenerative braking, walk assist, reverse, negative backlit instrument console, a USB port, remote lock, and anti-theft warning, among others. 

Hero Electric Optima CX: Price, Availability

The Hero Optima CX comes with a price tag of ₹62,190 ex-showroom Delhi, for the single-battery variant. The dual-battery variant will set you back by ₹77,490 ex-showroom, Delhi. The electric scooter will be available in blue, grey, and white colourways.
