Honor 70 With Snapdragon 778G+, Curved OLED, 54MP Sony IMX800 Launched: Specifications

Honor has introduced a vanilla Honor 70 smartphone along with the Honor 70 Pro and Honor 70 Pro+ in China. The Honor 70 comes with a Snapdragon upper-midrange processor, as opposed to the flagship MediaTek Dimensity chipsets of the Pro variants. Although it is a standard variant, it packs in a large OLED display, high screen refresh rate, premium build, triple cameras, stereo speakers, and fast charging features, among other features. 

Honor 70: Features, Specifications

The Honor 70 comes with a diamond pattern reflective glass panel at the rear, which is similar to the design of the Pro variants. However, the camera array design is different in the Honor 70. It comes with two circular rings housing the triple rear cameras and the LED flash. While the Pro models get the quad curved display, the Honor 70 makes do with a two-sided curved display. The handset sports a 6.67-inch 10-bit OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display also supports a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and comes with a peak brightness of 1000 nits. 

The Honor 70 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G+ chipset built on the 6nm fabrication process. It is a very potent chipset and can handle most tasks with ease. You can also play games such as BGMI/PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile at 60fps. The handset is equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. 

In the photography department, the Honor 70 gets a primary 54MP Sony IMX800 custom sensor. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide shooter that can also take macro shots, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Honor 70 gets a 32MP selfie snapper instead of the 50MP on the Pro variants. 

Some notable features of the smartphone include an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, 5G SA/NSA, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port, among others. The Honor 70 comes with a 4,800mAh battery coupled with 66W SuperCharge fast charging tech. It runs on Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12. 

Honor 70: Price, Availability

The Honor 70 comes at a starting price of CNY 2,699 (approx. ₹31,400) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top-spec 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant will cost you CNY 3,399 (approx. ₹39,500). It will go on sale in China on June 7 2022. The device comes in black, blue, green, and gradient colour options.
