Huawei Watch D Can Record ECG, Blood Pressure

Along with its foldable P50 Pocket smartphone, Huawei also took the wraps off its latest Watch D smartwatch at an event this Thursday. The Huawei Watch D carries a premium aviation-grade aluminium build with enhanced durability. The smartwatch sports a rectangular 1.64-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a pixel density of 326 PPI. It has two function buttons, namely, Health and Home on its right side. The Huawei Watch D’s straps are made of fluoro rubber and come in two size options, medium and large.

Huawei Watch D Health, Fitness Features

The Huawei Watch D offers health and fitness features such as heart rate monitoring, step counter, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen (SpO2) levels, among others. It supports 70+ sports modes like running, walking, elliptical, jumping etc. The mainstay of the Watch D is its ability to record ECG (Electrocardiogram) and also measure blood pressure to keep a check on your vitals.

The smartwatch uses TruBP feature which utilises the micropump with compression of 40kPa to carry out accurate 40mmHg to 230mmHg blood pressure measurements. Huawei says the error margin is only ± 3mmHg owing to the high-quality sensor, pressure feedback control circuit, and low flow resistance gas path. Huawei’s advanced algorithm makes use of AI computing to help in getting accurate results.

The Huawei Watch D comes with TruSeen 5.0+ tech, which uses eight sensors, a curved sapphire glass lens and ECG electrodes to carry out the ECG function.

The smartwatch is touted to detect Atherosclerosis, Arrhythmia, and Sleep Apnea risks. Huawei says it has gone forward and registered the Watch D as a Class II medical device with China’s food and drug administration.

The Watch D is claimed to offer up to seven days of battery backup on a single charge, even after six blood pressure and five ECG measurements daily. Other noteworthy features include NFC, wireless charging, IP68 dust/water resistance, and temperature sensor.

Huawei Watch D Price, Availability

The Huawei Watch D can be had in Classic Black and Elegant Titanium colour options. It is priced at CNY2988 (approx. ₹35,300) and will go on sale in China from December 25 onwards. There are chances that it may never see a global launch.
