In addition to releasing the macOS 12.2.1 update to address the battery drain bug in Macs, Apple has released the latest iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 updates for its supported iPhones and iPads. The new versions don’t bring any major changes to the current iOS and iPadOS builds, which were released back in September 2021. That said, they do fix an ongoing bug, the Braille display issue for iPhone and iPad users, on top of bringing about the latest security fixes. The updates come two weeks after the release of iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 to fix an actively exploited bug. Besides providing important security fixes, the iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 updates fix an issue that could cause Braille displays to stop responding in iPhones and iPads.

Additionally, the new updates address an actively exploited WebKit bug that could allow maliciously crafted web content to lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple states that immediate installation of iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 updates will stop further exploitation of the issue. Similar reasoning holds true for the newly released macOS 12.2.1 update for Mac users. Therefore, it is recommended to update your Apple device to the latest build as soon as possible.
