Apple iOS 15.4 Public Beta, iPadOS 15.4 Public Beta Updates Released: Here’s What’s New

Apple has rolled out public betas for iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 to public beta testers after the release of the updates for developers. New features include Universal Control, Face ID support while wearing masks, and more. What’s New In Apple iOS 15.4 Public Beta, iPadOS 15.4 Public Beta Updates?

While Apple rolls out public betas for iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for public beta testers, the new software version will take some time until it is available to the general public. It is to be noted that there will still be stability and performance related issues for testers when running on iOS 15.4 public beta on their primary devices.

The Apple Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release software. The feedback you provide on quality and usability helps us identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better. Please note that since the public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple, it may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software. Be sure to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and your Mac using Time Machine before installing beta software.

In order to update to the first public beta of iOS 15.4, head to Settings > General > Software update.

Alongside the first public beta of iOS 15.4, Apple is rolling out the first public betas of iPadOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5, and tvOS 15.4. In addition, there’s a new public beta of macOS Monterey 12.3.

New features in these updates include Universal Control, new emojis, and support for using Face ID with a mask. Along with these features comes a new widget for the Apple Wallet app, iCloud Keychain enhancements, upgrades to AirPods Bluetooth performance, and more.
