Apple rolled out the iOS 16 beta 5 early this week to registered developers. The newest iOS 16 beta introduced some new features, including a new sound alert for Find My.
How Find My Works
Apple’s Find My app allows users to locate their Apple devices. The app works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac and lets you track your missing devices even if they’re offline. If someone misplaces their Apple device, they can be located on a map. Furthermore, users can play a sound to pinpoint the location of lost devices that are nearby.

The sound alert played by the Find My app has been the same for many years. Prior to the iOS 16 beta 5 update, the app made radar-like sounds. With the new update, the alert sounds like a ringtone. You can check out how it sounds over at 9to5Mac. Additionally, the app gets a new Splash Screen with the latest update.
iOS 16 Beta 5 Brings Battery Percentage Indicator In The System Status Bar
Apple’s iOS 16 beta 5 update also displays the battery percentage in the system status bar. When your iPhone is sufficiently charged, the battery indicator in the status bar turns green. On the other hand, if your iPhone is running low on juice, the indicator turns yellow. Additionally, when it is being charged, you can see the battery percentage accompanied by a small charging icon next to it.
Copy And Delete Option For Screenshots
The new iOS 16 beta 5 introduces a “Copy and Delete” option for screenshots. Before the update, the menu which popped up after taking a screenshot only displayed options for saving to a Quick Note, saving to the Files app, deleting, and saving to photos.
