Apple introduced the iPhone 14 series yesterday. Alongside the new iPhone 14 lineup, the company also took the wraps off the Apple Watch 8 series and the new Apple AirPods Pro 2nd generation.
That’s not all. The company also announced the launch date of its latest iOS iteration, the iOS 16. The iPhone maker shared that iOS 16 and the watchOS 9 will be released on coming Monday, September 12, 2022. Previously, Apple had released the latest version of the iOS and iPadOS simultaneously. However, this time, the release of the iPadOS is delayed till October.
Apple iOS 16 Features
Apple had released iOS 16 and the watchOS 9 at its annual developer conference alongside iPadOS 16 back in June. Since the launch, the Cupertino-based tech giant has released eight developer beta, and six public beta builds for iOS 16. The latest iOS 16 iteration brings in a plethora of changes. Firstly, iOS 16 now includes a customizable lock screen. In the iOS 16 version, you can now add multiple widgets, as well as change the colours, fonts, and placement as per your preferences.
Furthermore, the iOS 16 lock screen now includes Focus Modes, which displays important information while in Work Focus mode and photos in the Personal Focus mode. Apart from this, Apple has also improved the Safari browser experience in its newest software version. The browser can now translate languages such as Turkish, Thai, Vietnamese, Polish, Indonesian, and Dutch. It also includes a new extension syncing feature, which allows users to view and add extensions available on other Apple devices owned by them.
Additionally, you can now undo sent iMessages in iOS 16. Moreover, messages are editable for up to 15 minutes. Apple’s Mail app also includes an Unsend Email feature, similar to that in iMessages. The iOS 16 also includes a shared photo library, better cinematic mode, and improved Carplay with new features. The Home App is also redesigned in iOS 16. You can read more about iOS 16 here.
