Amazon has now announced a software update to bring Alexa to thousands of Jaguar Land Rover models.
The car owners will receive the update over-the-air, without the need for bringing their vehicle to a retailer. The Amazon digital assistant will be available for the Jaguar Land Rover models running Pivi Pro 3.0 or a later version of the infotainment system, be it an old model or new. However, existing vehicles will require multiple updates before receiving the latest version of Pivi Pro, and in that case, some vehicle owners will have to visit the dealer.
The update announced by Amazon will be available to Jaguar Land Rover owners at no additional cost, but the users will require a 12-month subscription to its Online Pack service. To do so, users can simply scan a QR code on the Pivi Pro screen to activate Alexa and start using voice commands. You can ask Alexa to play your favourite track and use it for tasks such as navigation, phone calls, and weather updates.
