JioPhone Next Key Specifications Leaked

The JioPhone Next was announced at Reliance Jio’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) earlier this year. It was expected to go on sale in September 2021, ahead of the festive season, but it hasn’t received a launch date yet. Now, the JioPhone Next was spotted on Google Play Console listing via Abhishek Yadav, hinting that its launch is imminent. The listing has also revealed some important features of the JioPhone Next smartphone.

The JioPhone Next won’t be winning any beauty pageants as it comes with an all polycarbonate body with thick bezels, a massive forehead, and a thick chin. It is a budget offering and will focus on function over form. The volume buttons and power buttons are placed on the right side of the phone. The Jio logo sits on the rear, not to be mistaken for a fingerprint sensor. It might come with a face unlocking feature, though.

The handset sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution. It is equipped with a 28nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor with a 28nm process. It has ARM’s Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.3GHz and the Adreno 308 GPU. The phone is equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

On the photography front, it uses a 13MP rear-facing camera with an LED flash. There is an 8MP front-facing camera for selfie aficionados and video calls. The loudspeaker is placed at the rear of the phone, like all budget devices. It has a 2,500mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 11 Go out of the box. The JioPhone will be 4G VoLTE-capable and you will be able to access all Jio apps including JioTV, MyJio, JioSaavn, JioCloud, and others. It will also come with Google’s apps.

JiPhone Next Price, Availability

The JioPhone Next price is expected to be anywhere between ₹3,000 to ₹4,000, which would make it a very compelling device for new smartphone owners and also as a compelling secondary phone. It is expected to launch during Diwali this year.
