India’s biggest telecom operator, Reliance Jio, had announced the price hike on its 4G prepaid plans last week, followed by Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi). The company has increased the rates of its 4G prepaid plan in the country by 20-25%. The telco has now increased the price of recharge plans for the JioPhone. As per the information currently available, Reliance has hiked the prices of three prepaid recharge plans that are available for JioPhone. The company has also discontinued 4G data vouchers. The ₹899 plan will offer unlimited voice calls, 24GB of data, and 500 SMS. The validity of this plan is set to 336 days.
Moving onto the mid-tier plan, it will now cost ₹222. The same plan used to cost ₹185. The validity of this plan is set to 28 days. Under this plan users get unlimited voice calls benefit, 2GB of data per day, and 100 SMS.
The ₹155 plan for the JioPhone now costs ₹186. Users get unlimited calls, 1GB of data per day, and 100 SMS under this plan. While the company has updated the pricing of some plans, the price of the base ₹75 plan remains unchanged though.
Apart from the revised pricing, the telco has also announced the new ₹152 plan. It offers 0.5GB of data per day. So, you’re getting a total data benefit of 14GB. It also offers 300 SMS, unlimited calls, and access to JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity, and JioCloud services. As mentioned earlier, Jio also has discontinued 4G data top-up plans (₹22, ₹52, ₹72, ₹102, and ₹152)
