Lenovo Legion Y90 Gaming Smartphone: Specifications, Features, Price in India

January 2022 will see a flurry of smartphone launches, with Xiaomi, Realme, and vivo kicking of their launch events in the first week itself. Lenovo doesn’t want to be left behind, in fact, it wants to be the leader of the pack by unveiling its gaming smartphone, the Lenovo Legion Y90, on the very first day of 2022.

According to official teasers from Lenovo, posted on Weibo, the Legion Y90 will be added to its gaming devices under the Legion brand. It is usually associated with high-end gaming PCs, laptops, as well as accessories, but with the Legion Y90, it will enter the gaming smartphone market with its launch in China. There haven’t been any announcements pertaining to an India launch yet. Also, the company hasn’t revealed the smartphone’s specifications sheet. However, it did show off some details of the phone’s display in its teaser video.

The Lenovo Legion Y90 will come with a 6.92-inch E4 AMOLED screen. It is reported to support a refresh rate of 144Hz and 720Hz touch sampling rate. It is also said to have an anti-blue light eye protection certification.

Gaming phones invariably get hot with long hours of gameplay. To address this, the Lenovo Legion Y90 is said to offer a “Double Engine Air Cooling” with built-in dual cooling fans. Lenovo’s product director shared a screenshot on Weibo, claiming that even after 20-30 minutes of gaming, the Legion Y90 will continue playing games at 120fps and remain comparatively cool.

The Lenovo Legion Y90 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip and come with LPDDR5 high-speed memory as well as UFS3.1 flash storage. Its rumoured price is ₹54,999, though there haven’t been any official announcements regarding price and availability in India. We will have to play the waiting game for a few more days to get a hold of more details, when the phone is finally unveiled on January 1, 2022.
