As the G2 is a higher variant than the C2, it will boast higher peak brightness levels than the C2 by employing brightness booster algorithms and improved thermal efficiency. Bear in mind that these panels aren’t based on LG’s newly developed OLED EX technology. Both the G2 and C2 are built using a new composite fibre material that reduces their overall weight. LG says that the G and C series of TVs will offer HDMI 2.1 and will be able to pump full 48Gbps of HDMI bandwidth.
The C series will see an addition of a new 42-inch OLED TV touted to come with gaming features baked in. This makes it the smallest LG OLED to go into production. LG says that this TV will be perfect for small rooms, offices, or gamers confined to small spaces. The game dashboard will display information such as FPS and allow you to make adjustments more conveniently. It has added a new pre-set profile for sports, games and a dark room gaming mode. You will be able to enjoy the already available GeForce Now and Google Stadia cloud gaming services on this TV.
Towards the higher end of the spectrum, LG has added a massive 97-inch 4K model to its G series of OLEDs. This will be the biggest in LG’s line-up and will join the previously launched 83-inch and 88-inch TVs of LG.
LG’s new OLED TVs will come with a new webOS version dubbed as webOS 22. It will add support for multiple user profiles. This will allow personalised recommendations and an ability to customise the layout to multiple users. The new TVs will also come loaded with an ‘Always Ready’ mode, which you can use to display artwork when it is off.
