MapmyIndia has launched Mappls RealView, which is touted as the country’s first and fully indigenous all India 360-degree Panoramic Street View and 3D Metaverse Maps Service. It is available on Mappls.com as well as on Android and iOS. This announcement comes alongside the comeback of Google’s Street View for India, six years after it was banned in the country.

This data reserve is said to include over 40 crore geo-tagged 360-degree panoramic images and videos spanning thousands of cities, tourist areas, streets, and highways. Additionally, it is reported to comprise pan India 3D data and tens of thousands of 3D models.
App developers as well as enterprises are allowed to access and utilise more detailed RealView maps coverage and RealView technology-based APIs and solutions for their own use. It includes the following use cases— virtual reality, gaming, metaverse, tourism, real estate, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, municipal governance, defence, law enforcement, etc.

The company says that it has made part of its repository live. It is said to cover around 100,000 kilometres spanning various Indian regions including Greater Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Goa, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Patna, Nashik, Aurangabad, Ajmer, and more.
