MediaTek Dimensity 930 5G 6nm Processor Announced For Mid-Range 5G Smartphones: Specifications, Features

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 930 5G for mid-range smartphones, along with the new Dimensity 1050 and Helio G99 mid-range chipset. The Dimensity 930 is based on TSMC’s 6nm process. Let’s have a closer look at the MediaTek Dimensity 930 specifications, features, and availability.

MediaTek Dimensity 930 5G Features, Specifications

The MediaTek Dimensity 930 features two Cortex-A78 processors with a clock rate of 2.2GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 processors that clock in at 2GHz. It is accompanied by an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU. When it comes to memory, it supports LPDDR4x, LPDDR5, UFS 2.1, UFS 2.2, and UFS 3.1.

Display-wise, the chipset supports a maximum display resolution of 2520 × 1080 (Full HD+) with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a maximum screen refresh rate of 120Hz. The SoC is capable of supporting up to 108MP cameras. Moreover, the MediaTek Dimensity 930 5G features the ability to record 4K videos at 30FPS.

The chipset reportedly includes in-built noise reduction engines that will allow you to capture photos and videos in low-light conditions. It promises up to five times faster AI Face Detection. The SoC is equipped with a MediaTek MiraVision Smart Contrast and Local Tone Mapping (SCLTM) engine to improve video streaming. This is said to offer smooth 120Hz Full HD+ displays.

Connectivity options include integrated Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-SIM 5G, dual-frequency GPS, and USB Type-C port. We can expect smartphones powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 930 to arrive in the second quarter of 2022.
