A few months back, Microsoft had launched the Surface Laptop Go 2. It came powered by Intel’s 11th Gen Core i5 processor and Iris XE graphics. Now, there’s word that the company is working on a gaming-oriented laptop—the Microsoft Surface Gaming laptop. According to a report by The Prime Gaming, the laptop’s spec sheet has been leaked, revealing that it will feature a 12th generation Intel Core i5/i7 processor.
Let’s have a closer look at the rumoured specifications of the supposedly upcoming Microsoft Surface Gaming Laptop.
Microsoft Surface Gaming Laptop: Rumoured Specs
Going by the leaked spec sheet, the Microsoft Surface Gaming Laptop is expected to arrive in two variants. One will be powered by the Intel Core i5-12500H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU. Meanwhile, the second model will get an Intel Core i7-12700H processor and the RTX 3070 Ti GPU. The laptop will feature 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR4x RAM.
Coming to the display, Microsoft’s gaming laptop is believed to sport a 16-inch PixelSense Flow Display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It will support a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and come with Dolby Vision support.
Furthermore, the Microsoft Surface Gaming Laptop is reported to come with a battery life of up to 15 hours for the Core i7 model. Meanwhile, the Core i5 model will supposedly last for up to 16 hours. When it comes to connectivity, the device is said to support three Type-C ports with USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 4.0, a Surface Connect port, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will also support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Wireless v5.1.
Additionally, the Surface Gaming Laptop is expected to come with Windows 11 Home out of the box. It will also have Microsoft 365 Apps and the Xbox App pre-installed. Microsoft will also be offering a free 30-day trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as well as Microsoft 365 Home on purchase of the laptop.
The leaked spec sheet also reveals that the laptop will come in Platinum or Matt Black colour options. It will come in a magnesium and aluminium casing.
Since the legitimacy of the leaked specifications cannot be verified, we’ll have to take these alleged specs with a grain of salt.
