Xiaomi has announced the MIUI 13 update for the Indian market. The Chinese smartphone maker had originally unveiled MIUI 13 alongside the Xiaomi 12 series in China in December 2021. The MIUI 13 version is based on Android 12 and it brings a host of new features such as a new UI design, lots of widgets, smoother animations, the all-new Mi Smart Hub, Liquid Storage, Atomized Memory, Focused Algorithms, Smart Sidebar, new privacy features, improved security features, and new wallpapers.
Apart from launching MIUI 13 in India, Xiaomi also detailed the list of eligible smartphones that will receive the MIUI 13 update in Q1 2022.
MIUI 13 Features: Liquid Storage, Atomised Memory, Mi Smart Hub, Widgets, & More
MIUI 13 offers 23% improved app fluency with fewer dropped frames compared to the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version, which should make UI smoother and more fluid. The company claims that there is up to a 15% reduction in dropped frames in the newer software version.
Xiaomi has also introduced the Liquid Storage feature that manages the way files are stored on devices. Xiaomi claims that users can expect 95% improved read/write speeds even after three years on smartphones running MIUI 13.
MIUI 13 also includes Atomized Memory, which promises to offer better RAM efficiency. This new feature works by analysing the way apps use memory and stops all unimportant tasks to ensure a smooth user experience. Furthermore, MIUI 13 also includes new dynamic and static wallpapers, a new Sidebar feature, Mi Smart Hub, Coherent UI Elements, and Widgets.
