MSI Prestige 16 Laptop With 16-Inch Mini-LED 165Hz Display, RTX 3050 GPU Unveiled: Specifications

MSI has introduced two new laptops, thus expanding its Prestige series of thin and light laptops. The Prestige 16 and the Prestige 16 Evo boast of 16-inch displays and a powerful Intel 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, which would appeal to those looking for a productivity laptop. They also pack in LPDDR5 RAM, choice of discrete/Intel Iris XE graphics, MiniLED/IPS LCDs, 165Hz refresh rate, dual-fan cooling system, and Wi-Fi 6E support, among other features.

The MSI Prestige and the MSI Prestige Evo business laptops come with a premium build of 16.9mm thickness and 1.9kg weight. The MSI Prestige sports a 16-inch  QHD+ MiniLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The MSI Prestige Evo is a step below the MSI Prestige as it misses out on the MiniLED panel and comes with a standard IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and 16:10 aspect ratio. 

Both the notebooks are powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core  i7-1280P processor. The MSI Prestige gets an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4GB GDDR6 Laptop GPU, whereas the MSI Prestige Evo makes do with Intel Iris Xe graphics. They can be equipped with up to 32GB on-board  LPDDR5 RAM, which isn’t user upgradeable. The laptops support NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD drive. 

In terms of connectivity, they come with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports (w/PD charging), two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Other notable features include a white backlit keyboard, a Full HD webcam with IR and noise reduction, a fingerprint sensor, an ambient light sensor, and dual stereo speakers, among others. Both the laptops are powered by a 4-Cell, Li-Polymer 82Wh battery. The Prestige gets 100W charging, whereas the Prestige Evo comes with 65W charging support. 

The Taiwanese brand hasn’t announced its pricing and availability details yet.
