The most awaited phone of the year is finally out and up for purchase. If you’ve been planning to buy a new smartphone, your wait ends here! But if you’re not yet sure about investing in the all new OnePlus 6, here’s all that you should know about the beauty…
1. Camera
OnePlus 6 has a dual-camera setup that comes with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 519 sensor and a 20-megapixel Sony IMX 376K secondary rear camera. It also includes optical image stabilization (OIS). OIS results in the camera’s shutter to stay open longer, allowing more light to hit its sensor, which means you can expect impressive macro shots. OnePlus 5 or the 5T was no less good in terms of camera but this one is one step ahead with its much-improved camera.

This is one of the biggest reasons why most people today want to switch to OP6, for its fabulous battery life. Did you know that the fast-charging technology in OnePlus can quickly charge your device roughly up to 60% in less than half an hour? Yes, you read that right! It comes with a 3,300mAh, which is similar to the OnePlus 5T. So the device has nothing new to offer when it comes battery life, but this is still a plus point. With a full charge, you can easily use your device all day long, depending on your usage.
3. Face Recognition
Like OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 6 too comes with a facial recognition feature for device protection in addition to pattern/PIN and fingerprint scanner for unlocking the phone. Facial recognition is fairly easy to set up as it requires one-time face scan. It’s a good feature but not as secure as you think it may be. You can’t use it for mobile payments with Google Pay, for instance. This feature can only be used to unlock your device easily.
4. Headphone Jack
OnePlus has kept the headphone jack for the OnePlus 6, so you can use your old pair of wired headphones.
5. Performance
OP6 is backed by top-end processors and RAM power, which is what makes it ‘the most wanted’ phone. The device is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with a 6GB RAM. The best thing about the device is, it handles everything with ease. Right from working on multiple apps at the same time to playing graphic intensive games and much more, OnePlus 6 can handle it all!
6. Pros and Cons
Every device comes with a few pros and cons but as far as the OnePlus 6 goes, we’d say the 2 plus points about the device include: it’s improved camera and the improved speed and responsiveness (performance). Talk about cons and that includes: no wireless charging, no portrait mode feature and not IP68 certified (not dust and water resistant).
(OnePlus 6 is currently priced at Rs. 34,999 (6GB). There are also the 8GB RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage variant at Rs. 39,999 and the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition variant with 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage at Rs. 44,999. Prices are subject to change.)
