Netflix India has started supporting UPI Autopay payments. With the help of UPI (Unified Payments Interface), you can now pay for Netflix’s recurring subscription costs without worrying about paying bills manually every month. The UPI Autopay feature will first come to Netflix.com and Netflix’s Android app. If you are already a Netflix user, you can head over to the Billing Details section and choose the new UPI Autopay option. The UPI Autopay support is available for new as well as existing users.

Before the rollout of the UPI Autopay feature, Netflix used to accept subscription costs in India with the help of credit cards and debit cards issued by American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, and Visa. Additionally, the Netflix subscription was also available in India through telecom partners like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vi.

How To Pay For Netflix Subscription Using UPI Autopay

  1. If you are an existing Netflix user, you will need to login to your account. If you are new to Neflix, you need to create a new account using your email address and choose the subcription plan between ₹499, ₹699, and ₹799. You can also choose a mobile plan which starts at just ₹199.
  2. Thereafter, you have to choose the UPI Autopay method.
  3. You can pay the subscription cost using the Paytm or a UPI ID. After filling out all the details and paying the cost, you will be subscribed for the requested Netflix plan.
  4. If you are an existing Netflix user, you can change the payments method to UPI AutoPay by going to the Account > Billing Details in the Android app or the website. After that, you need to choose the UPI AutoPay option so that from the next month you can pay the recurring subcription cost without worrying about paying manually.

Speaking about the new payment method, Gunjan Pradhan, Head of Payments, Netflix India, said, “Starting today, anyone signing up for a Netflix account in India will be able to pay for their monthly subscription using UPI (Unified Payments Interface) AutoPay. Existing members in India can also switch to UPI AutoPay by going to “Billing Details” in their Account section (on a browser, or through the Android app). Our goal is to give members more freedom and control over their Netflix experience — to watch their favourite stories whenever they want, all without ads. We hope that adding UPI AutoPay to our existing payment options — credit and debit cards, as well as integrations with Airtel, Vi and Jio — will give our members even more flexibility.“
