Apple Unveils HomePod Mini In Exciting New Colours

During its Unleashed event last night, Apple unveiled three new exciting colour variants of the HomePod Mini. Apple’s only smart speaker on sale right now comes in three new colours: Blue, Orange, and Yellow. With these three variants, the HomePod Mini is now available in five colours, including Black and White. The HomePod Mini competes with the Amazon Echo and the Google Nest Audio. It is priced higher than those two speakers and comes with fewer features, but it is excellent for those who live in Apple’s walled garden.

The Apple HomePod Mini price in India is ₹9,900, and it is available through Amazon, Apple.com, Apple Authorised Reseller Stores, Flipkart, and other online and offline stores. While you can buy it in Black and White right away, the new colour variants will only go on sale in November 2021.

Apple HomePod Mini Features

The Apple HomePod Mini is the company’s second smart speaker. The first Siri-powered smart speaker from the Cupertino-based tech giant, HomePod, was a failure, and the company discontinued it earlier this year. The HomePod Mini has found some success, but sales are still nothing compared to Amazon’s Echo lineup or Google’s Nest lineup due to steep pricing.

The HomePod Mini has a circular shape and a fabric cover to blend in your current home decor. It has a touch-sensitive control area at the top, featuring RGB lighting. It can be used for music controls and volume adjustments. The mini-sized smart speaker offers decently loud audio for its size, thanks to its full-range driver and computational audio. Apple claims that its premium neodymium magnet, a pair of force-cancelling passive radiators, and the S5 chipset create full-sounding audio with deep bass and crisp highs.

The HomePod Mini features Apple’s Siri voice assistant and can stream music from the internet, play podcasts, answer various questions, and control HomeKit-compatible smart home products. Siri can also recognise each member of the family and offer personalised answers. The smart speaker can be paired with other HomePod Mini units across the home for multi-room audio. It can also be paired with Macs, iPhones, iPads, and the Apple TV. Siri can automatically adjust the speaking volume based on the room’s ambient sound levels and the volume of the user.

Family members can also use it for announcements, music sharing, and getting answers via voice commands. Its Intercom feature can be used conversing with others in the home or for family announcements. Intercom works with iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and CarPlay so that everyone in the house can get Intercom notifications and send Intercom messages.
