Nikon Z9 Specifications and Features
The Nikon Z9 comes with a 45.7MP full-frame sensor that measures 35.9 x 23.9mm. The FX-format CMOS sensor comes with a stacked design that enables faster read speeds. The camera is equipped with an all-new EXPEED 7 image-processing engine which, as per the company, is 10x faster compared to its predecessor. The EXPEED 7 is capable of handling AF and AE calculations at 120 cycles per second, and it separately processes dual-streamed data from the stacked image sensor. The stacked sensor design also brings with it an improved phase-detection autofocus system. The EXPEED 7 also enables features like 120fps still shooting, 8K video recording, a blackout-free viewing experience, and more.
The Nikon Z9 is capable of recording 8K UHD (7,680 × 4,320) resolution video at 24p, 25p, and 30p for over 2 hours at a stretch. It can also record 4K videos at 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p and 60p frame rates. The Nikon Z9 also supports 4K resolution slow-motion videos at up to 120fps. The mirrorless camera can shoot at 120fps even in the low-resolution mode, though it can go as high as 160 frames per second in some scenarios.
The new camera packs a Quad-VGA panel viewfinder which is the world’s brightest viewfinder and can achieve up to 3000 nits of luminance, claims the company. The viewfinder on the Nikon Z9 can adjust the brightness based on the lighting condition. It features a 3.2-inch touchscreen that can tilt along 4-axis horizontally and vertically.
The Nikon Z9 features a full-size HDMI port, an Ethernet port, a USB Type-C port, a microphone port, and a headphone port. Wireless connectivity options of this camera include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The professional camera also features dual-independent card slots that accept CFExpress Type-B cards. The Nikon Z9 (body) weighs about 1.34kg and measures around 149 x 149.5 x 90.5mm.
