Rumours of a possible Switch Pro were sparked by the fact that Nintendo’s official Switch OLED announcement was changed to private on YouTube. The rumoured Pro version is said to feature 4K support and improved processing power thanks to a new Nvidia Tegra chip. The device is reported to launch in September 2022.
Nintendo has continued to stay mum on the topic. In fact, the company had vehemently denied plans of a Switch Pro last year. Instead, it announced that it will be launching the Nintendo Switch OLED model that year. Recently, the firm announced the Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition, which is set to launch on August 26, 2022.
Nintendo typically announces new Switch versions in July. For instance, the Switch Lite was announced in July 2019 and the Switch OLED was announced two years later in July 2021. Considering that the Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition was announced this month, some say that a Pro version might not be unveiled too soon.
Conflicting reports about a purported Nintendo Switch Pro seem to be coming in from all quarters. As there’s no conclusive proof of such a device yet, it’s best to take such rumours with a grain of salt. Do you think a Pro version could arrive this year?
