OnePlus, back in 2020, made a comeback in the mid-range smartphone segment with the OnePlus Nord. Later, the brand decided to launch smartphones at various price points under the Nord lineup. As of now, the Nord lineup spans entry-level to upper mid-range segments. In fact, the brand recently launched its first non-smartphone product under the Nord line up—the OnePlus Nord Buds.
Now, a new report by The Mobile Indian claims that OnePlus might spin off the Nord series an a independent brand or a sub-brand. We have previously seen Xiaomi taking the same approach with POCO, and Oppo doing the same with Realme.
Nord Devices Might Drop OnePlus Branding
The report further claims that Nord devices will soon drop the OnePlus branding and Nord will have its own branding on the devices. Though, the OnePlus branding may not be gone completely and the brand might use Nord by OnePlus or Nord: A OnePlus Brand branding. Also, Nord will reportedly have its own stores and operation team.

Additionally, it is being reported that the Nord range will have a strong presence in the offline segment and it will have dedicated showrooms. The company is also said to introduce TWS, Bluetooth neckbands, smart TVs, fitness trackers, smartwatches, powerbanks, and other accessories under the Nord brand.
The Nord series is also reported to get its own interface which will basically be a skin on top of OxygenOS. Also, the Nord brand will compete in the budget flagship segment which will be priced around ₹35,000. Moreover, the Nord team will be mainly based in India and Nord will also set up a manufacturing hub in the country.
