Earlier this year, Nothing made its debut in the consumer tech space with the Nothing ear (1) true wireless stereo in-ear monitors (IEM). The IEM gathered a lot of attention and has been the talk of the town not only for its transparent design but also for its value for money proposition.
The London-based brand initially launched the Nothing ear (1) TWS in a single colour: white. However, a few months after the launch, the company has now introduced a new Nothing ear (1) black edition.

The company says that it has adopted renewable energy certificates for the manufacturing process in order to neutralise its 1.78kg carbon footprint. It has also purchased additional carbon credits from Verified Carbon Standard to offset the remaining emissions. The new Nothing ear (1) black edition retains the semi-transparent case design of its predecessor. However, this time around, the bottom half of the case has a matte black finish. The upper portion of the earbuds along with the ear tips are also matte black whereas the stem remains transparent.
Nothing ear (1) Black Edition: Price in India
The Nothing ear (1) black edition retails in India for ₹ 6,999. It will be available for sale in the country on Flipkart and the Nothing Online Store starting December 13th. Users will have the option to pay via cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and USD Coin in select markets on the Nothing Online Store. However, this payment option will not be available in India.

Nothing ear (1) Black Edition: Features and Specifications
The Nothing ear (1) packs an 11.6mm dynamic driver to offer a balanced sound signature. It features a Bluetooth 5.2 chip for wireless connectivity and can be paired with devices running Android 5.1 and above and iOS 11 and above. The Nothing ear (1) supports both AAC and SBC audio codecs. It also offers active noise cancellation (ANC) and uses three in-built mics to cancel out the ambient noise. The TWS offers a Transparency mode in addition to Light and Maximum ANC modes.
Each earbud of the Nothing ear (1) has a 31mAh battery unit inside it and is reported to last for 5.7 hours on a single charge. Moreover, the company claims that the charging capsule packs a 570mAh battery unit and offers about 24 hours of battery life. The Nothing ear (1) supports fast charging and is compatible with Qi-certified wireless chargers. Each earbud weighs 4.7 grams and the case weighs 57.4 grams.
