Nothing launched its first-ever smartphone, dubbed the Nothing Phone (1), back in July 2022. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 778G+ processor. The device received its first-ever software update soon after the launch. The update was meant to address a slew of problems with the camera app, fingerprint scanner, battery, and user interface. This was followed by a few more updates to improve the overall system performance.
Now, the Phone (1) has received a new software update—Nothing OS 1.1.7. Alongside a few improvements and bug fixes, the latest update for the Nothing Operating System also brings along a better AirPods support for the smartphone. The company has also recently teased Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5.0 for the smartphone. However, there is no information available on update’s final rollout.
Nothing OS 1.1.7 Software Update: Changelog
The latest Nothing OS 1.1.7 update measures 80MB in size. As for the changelog, it allows users to display the battery percentage of Apple AirPods. To enable the feature, you can head to the smartphone’s Settings > Experimental Features menu. Furthermore, the latest software update for Nothing Phone (1) improves the OS fluidity and audio quality when recording videos. Plus, the update also brings along October/November 2022 security patch for the Phone (1) users.

As for the other changes, the newest Nothing OS update also offers a fix for an issue causing WhatsApp notifications to be unresponsive on the smartphone’s lock screen. The new improvements are being rolled out via an OTA (Over-the-Air) update. To manually check for the latest Nothing Phone (1) software update, you can head to the device’s Settings > System > System Updates menu. Press download and install the update if it is available.
