The Nothing Phone (1) has been the talk of the town for the last few weeks. After weeks of teasers and leaks, the Phone (1) has finally launched in India and other global markets. The Nothing Phone (1) comes with a transparent design language that we have already seen with the Nothing Ear (1). The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor and up to 12GB of RAM.

The Nothing Phone (1) price in India starts at ₹32,999. It comes in three configurations—8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. The pricing is as follows:

As a launch offer, Nothing Phone (1) buyers will be eligible for a flat ₹2,000 discount with HDFC Credit Card and EMI transactions. The handset will go on sale starting from July 21, 2022 exclusively via Flipkart and Nothing’s website. The Nothing Power 45W charger will be sold for ₹2,499, while those who pre-ordered the handset can purchase the same for ₹1,499. Meanwhile, the Nothing Ear (1) will be available at ₹6,999, and for pre-order buyers, it will be sold for ₹5,999.

    The Nothing Phone (1) flaunts a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel features symmetric bezels and houses the front selfie shooter inside a corner punch hole notch. The display is HDR10+ certified and makes room for an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner beneath it.

    Powering the Phone (1) is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor and an integrated Adreno 642L GPU. Built on TSMC’s 6nm process, the Snapdragon 778G+ brings with it an integrated X53 5G modem, four performance-focused Cortex-A78 cores, and four efficiency-focused Cortex-A55 cores. It comes paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The company is shipping the Phone (1) with Nothing OS, which is based on Android 12.

    For photography, the Nothing Phone (1) offers a dual-rear camera setup including a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with an F1.8 aperture. Accompanying the primary camera is a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor with ultra-wide-angle functionality and a 114° field of view. The primary rear camera on the device supports dual OIS and EIS and is also capable of 10-bit video recording. Nothing is using a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor at the front for selfies and video calls.

    Backing up the Phone (1) is a 4,500mAh battery unit with 33W fast charging support. The handset will also support 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging. It will make use of a Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The charging port will also double as the audio port since the device doesn’t offer a 3.5mm audio jack.

    Nothing is also promising three Android updates for the Phone (1), which means it will get Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15 in the future. The smartphone is also eligible for four years of security updates. The Nothing Phone (1) features over 900 LEDs on the rear panel, placed in four different contours. To customize and make the most out of these LEDs, the brand is also offering an all-new Glyph interface.
