The market for personalised mechanical keyboards is growing more than ever, and NZXT has brought its own customisable keyboards to attract gamers. These keyboards are christened as ‘Function’ and will come in full-size, tenkeyless, and MiniTKL types. Also, the inclusion of an aluminium top plate makes it easier to clean. You can have the plates come in white, black, and gunmetal grey colours. The full-size and tenkeyless keyboards get a wrist rest. They also come with status lights for Caps lock, Num lock, and Scroll lock, which the MiniTKL misses out on.
The keyboards use socketed switches for easy customisation. The switches aren’t permanently fixed on the circuit, which means you can replace them or simply remove them as per your preference. All the Function keyboards and switches get 100 percent anti-ghosting and N-key rollover.
Buyers who intend to purchase the keyboard online from NZXT will be able to choose different switches such as Gateron Red, Gateron Blue, and Gateron Brown. Also, streamers would appreciate the linear type Gateron Silent Black Ink V2, and the Gateron Aliaz Silent options. The offline version will come with the Gateron Red switches, which you can swap later.
The keyboards get ABS keycaps with RGB lighting and are fully customizable via NZXT’s CAM software. You can fiddle with per-key lighting control and some presets. That’s not all, the software also lets you record macros.
When you buy these keyboards you will get the keyboard preassembled with the switches and keycaps that you’ve opted for. You will also find a switch puller, a keycap remover, some spare key switches, and a USB Type-C cable inside the package.
