Ola Electric has increased the price of its flagship S1 Pro electric scooter by ₹10,000, as expected. Currently, the Ola S1 Pro costs ₹1,39,999 (ex-showroom Delhi, before FAME-II and state subsidies). Bhavish Agarwal, the company’s CEO, had hinted at this a while back.
The automobile industry, like other businesses, is still feeling the effects of the pandemic’s chip scarcity. The main reasons for the price increase are the depreciation of the currency and inflation. Last weekend, on May 21, Ola opened its current purchase window for the S1 Pro with updated rates.

The S1, on the other hand, is now unavailable and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Ola is currently intending to offer more S1 Pro devices and will sell the ordinary S1 model at a discounted rate later this year.
Despite poor coverage and issues with the initial batch of S1 Pros, demand for Ola’s electric scooters has been high. Last month, the company sold over 12,000 electric scooters, surpassing Hero Electric to become the leader in the electric scooter segment. An Ola scooter caught fire in Pune in March, prompting a recall of 1,441 S1 Pro scooters and pre-emptive diagnostics and health checks. Since then, the business has released a series of over-the-air (OTA) upgrades that have addressed certain underlying issues.
