Google, at I/O 2022, unveiled the latest iteration of its mobile operating system—Android 13. Alongside this, several Android OEMs have announced the list of devices eligible for Android 13 Developer Preview program.
OnePlus took to the OnePlus Community forum to revealed the Android 13 Developer Preview program for its latest generation flagship—the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10 Pro Android 13 Developer Preview program, as the name suggests, is best suited for developers. However, tinkerers and advanced users can also flash it on their devices to check out the new features of Android 13.

The OnePlus 10 Pro Android 13 Developer preview program provides app developers and early adopters access to Android 13 at an early stage. But, don’t expect it to be as polished and stable as the regular builds.
In fact, OnePlus discourages users from installing the developer preview firmware on their devices if they have no experience with software development. The company has also provided users with a list of known bugs that they might face on the OnePlus 10 Pro after flashing Android 13 Developer Preview firmware.

Also, users will lose access to the shelf and will no longer be able to move the documents in My Files after upgrading to Android 13 build. Moreover, some apps may not work as intended due to compatibility issues. OnePlus also warns users that the process involves a risk of bricking the smartphone and users must take back up of their data before proceeding with the installation.
OnePlus 10 Pro Android 13 Developer Preview Program: How to Flash
Upgrading the OnePlus 10 Pro to Android 13 Developer Preview build isn’t much of a task. The brand has provided detailed step-by-step instructions to help users with the installation. Check out the procedure below.
- Download the latest firmware zip from the specified server.
- Copy the firmware file to your OnePlus 10 Pro internal storage.
- Now head over to Settings -> About device -> Version and click on Build number seven times
- Now, enter the password to turn on the developer mode.
- Head over to Settings -> About device -> Up to date -> Click the top right button -> Local install -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Extract -> Upgrade
- Click on the Restart button after the upgrade is complete.
Users will also have an option to roll back to Android 12 build in case they’re not happy with the performance and stability. However, rollback would require a clean flash and users will lose all their data.
