OnePlus has rolled out the latest build of OxygenOS 12 for the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series. This update improves upon the previous version by including better battery performance and some bug fixes.
Back in March, the brand had released the first stable build of Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9R. However, various users faced issues with the March build, such as a malfunctioning fingerprint scanner, disappearing notifications, and battery drain. The company’s latest build promises to fix issues with the battery, and will hopefully correct other issues as well.

Although the changelog only mentions a battery fix, hopefully the latest OxygenOS 12 update will include changes that will correct the other problems faced by users. Do note that the Android security patch level is still labelled March 2022.

OnePlus is releasing the latest OxygenOS 12 build for the OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 8 series in a phased manner. It will first be rolled out to a few users, followed by a wider release over the course of the week. The company will sort out kinks with the latest update, if any, and then offer a broader rollout.
Eligible smartphones will get the latest update automatically. But if you can’t wait for it to eventually arrive on your handset, you can choose to sideload the updates.
