OnePlus 9R Android 12 Update (OxygenOS 12) Released In India: New Features, Changelog

Apart from rolling out the Android 12 update for the OnePlus 8 series, the company has also started seeding the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9R. Similar to the OnePlus 8 series, the OnePlus 9R Android 12 update is only available for the Open beta test users. The newly released OxygenOS 12 update brings in features such as three adjustable Dark Mode levels, improved shelf, Canvas AOD, and fixes for some known issues.

OnePlus 9R Android 12 Update Rolling Out In India

According to details released by OnePlus, the Android 12 for the OnePlus 9R arrives with firmware version LE2101_11.C.14. The new software update includes improved Dark Mode, Optimized desktop icons with improved textures, additional style options for Cards in Shelf, updated Work-Life Balance feature, Canvas AOD, and fixes for issues related to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The update also has fixed an issue when background applications were abnormally closed in specific scenarios.

  • Work Life Balance feature is now available to all users, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Work and Life mode via quick settings
  • WLB 2.0 now supports automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization
• Gallery
  • Gallery now allows you to switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture, intelligently recognizing the best-quality pictures, and cropping the thumbnail based on the content, making the gallery layout more pleasing
• Canvas AOD
  • Canvas AOD brings you new diverse styles of lines and colors, for a more personalized lock screen experience with inspiring visuals
  • Newly added multiple brushes and strokes and support for color adjustment
  • Optimized software algorithm and improved face recognition to better identify the features and skin color of different figures
• Network
  • Fixed the issue that unable to automatically connect to Wi-Fi
• Bluetooth
  • Fixed the issue that wireless earphones cannot play sound when connecting Bluetooth in specific scenarios

Known issues

1. The clock displays smaller. You can try to adjust it manually or delete it and add the clock widget again
2. Phone application may be replaced by Contacts in Dock. You can adjust it manually to move Phone application in the right place

As usual, the Android 12 update is rolling out to limited users initially. The update should be available widely, when OnePlus makes sure that new build doesn’t contain any critical bugs.
