OPPO A16e With Helio P22, 13MP Camera Coming To India: Specifications, Price

The OPPO A16K was a budget smartphone which was launched recently in India in January this year. Now, OPPO is gearing up to add the new OPPO A16e to its budget lineup. The OPPO A16e will carry a similar design language as the OPPO A16K but will be a downgrade in terms of specifications.  

OPPO A16e: Features, Specifications

The OPPO A16e sports a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution, 60Hz screen refresh rate, and 269ppi pixel density. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. It comes with a teardrop display, which looks awful in this day and age. The brand says the A16e smartphone comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 89.27 percent. But it has relatively chunky bezels surrounding the screen. 

The OPPO A16e is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, which should be just about enough to handle regular tasks. It will be equipped with 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt eMMC type storage. 

When it comes to the camera, the OPPO A16e comes with a 13MP primary shooter coupled with an LED flash. Selfie duties are handled by a 5MP snapper housed in the teardrop notch at the front. 

The A16e makes do with face unlock as it doesn’t come with a fingerprint sensor. Other notable features include dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro USB port, and a microSD card slot. 

The OPPO A16e is powered by a 4,230mAh battery under its hood and doesn’t get any fast charging support. The smartphone runs on ColorOS 11.1 based on the Android 11 operating system.  

OPPO A16e: Price, Availability 

The OPPO A16e with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage will be priced at ₹9,990, while the 4GB + 64GB variant will come with a price tag of ₹11,990 in India. The starting price is about ₹500 lower than the OPPO A16K’s launch price. The handset will come in Midnight Black, blue, and white colourways.
