Oppo A97 5G Design And Features Revealed: Price

Oppo will be adding a new smartphone soon. A leaked specs sheet of the Oppo A97 5G smartphone has surfaced revealing its images and key details. The exact launch details about this new device are still under wraps though. The A97 5G made an appearance on China Telecom’s website giving us a fair idea about this new A-series 5G capable device. So, let’s dive in to check its design and features. 

Oppo A97 5G: Design, Features

The Oppo A97 5G will be a successor to the Oppo A96 5G, which was launched in China in January 2022. It sports a sky blue shade in the leaked images, with a dual finish rear panel. The camera island is huge, comprising dual camera sensors and an LED flash. The handset comes with flat sides all around. It gets a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The volume rockers are placed towards the left of the device and the power button to the right side. It is unclear whether it will have a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button or an in-display type. The handset weighs 190 grams. 

There is no word about the chipset used in the Oppo A97 5G. Expect it to be powered by the budget 5G processors from MediaTek or Qualcomm. However, we can’t rule out the possibility of Oppo plonking in the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset from the Chinese Oppo A96 5G. The device will be equipped with 8GB RAM or 12GB RAM and will get up to 256GB of internal storage. 

For photography, it gets a 48MP primary camera accompanied by a 2MP secondary snapper. The selfie camera is an 8MP unit housed in the top centre position of the display. It is difficult to judge via the pictures if it’s a hole-punch camera cutout or the dreadful waterdrop notch. The display could be an OLED or an LCD of 6.56-inch size with Full HD+ resolution. 

The smartphone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery under its hood, which might come with 33W fast charging support. According to the listing, the Oppo A97 5G with 12GB RAM is priced at CNY2,299 (approx. 27,250). It will arrive in Quiet Night Black, Deep Sea Blue, and Colourful Cherry Blossom colour options.
